EPIC CHURCH LEADERSHIP AGREEMENT

Thank you for your interest in serving as a leader. Leadership is a great privilege that carries with it specific responsibilities both to those you lead and the organization you represent. As a leader, others will watch you closely and take what you say seriously. How you present yourself when you lead should be consistent with who you are every other day of the week.

As followers of Jesus, we look to him as the authority for how we should live our lives. To ensure continuity and establish clear expectations we’ve created a standard of conduct for leaders at Epic. It should not be considered lightly and dismissed as “red-tape”. If for whatever reason you have reservations about living according to any of these standards, let’s have a conversation about it.

In accepting a role as a leader you’re agreeing to be held accountable to model these standards:

1.   I will protect the unity of Epic Church by supporting church leadership and will commit to handling conflict in an appropriate way, avoiding gossip or complaining.

2.   I will support Epic Church by attending regularly and by making financial generosity a priority.

3.   I will strive to honor God in my sexual conduct by maintaining sexual abstinence in singleness and faithfulness in marriage.

We believe that scripture teaches that sex was created by God as an expression of intimacy between a man and a woman within the context of marriage. If you identify with any of the following, we’d like to have a conversation to talk about it, discuss service options, and answer any questions you may have.

•   If you are involved in a sexual relationship and are not married.

•   If you are single and living with your boyfriend or girlfriend.

•   If you are married and have recently been involved in a sexual relationship outside of your marriage.

•   If you view pornographic materials.

If you identify as LGBTQ, we understand that a traditional view of sexuality poses some unique challenges. We would like for you to check the box below so you can have a conversation with your Location Pastor.

4.   I will strive to honor God by not drinking alcohol to excess, using illegal drugs, or abusing prescription drugs.

In an effort to have consistency among our leadership team and to protect you from a potentially conflicting situation, we ask that you indicate below if you would like to have a conversation.
