DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

  1. What are you a diehard fan of, if anything? Are you a fair-weather fan of anything?
  2. What do you think the difference is between being a fan of God versus following God?
  3. Which, if any, of the following aspects of a lukewarm faith do you experience the most? Are there any other lukewarm aspects of your faith?
    • Craving acceptance and approval from people more than from God.
    • Rarely sharing your faith with others.
    • Rationalizing or explaining away sin.
    • Thinking more about life on earth than eternity in heaven.
    • Only turning to God when you need something.
    • Only giving when it’s convenient.
    • Not much difference in the way you live vs. the people around you.
  4. God loves to meet us where we are. He also loves us enough not to leave us there. Do you believe that being loved by God (and accepting that) can lead to true growth? Why or why not? Have you ever experienced that?
