Find a quiet place and work through these questions yourself, and/or work through them with a friend, family member, or your life group.
- How did you first learn to pray (whether as a kid or as an adult)? What did those prayers look like?
- How much of your prayer is currently based on convenience—when you pray, how you pray, how much you pray, what you pray about, etc.?
- Prayer is supposed to be less transactional, and more about transforming us as we pray. Do you agree with that? How might it be possible for prayer to transform you rather than represent a transaction between you and God?
- As you read through how Jesus taught to pray, what stands out to you the most? What is most helpful as you consider your own approach to prayer?
